Erika F EOTD- The Perfect Companion for a Red Lip

As I can only wear red lips during May, I've had to put my bright and dramatic eye makeup on hold until this month is over. Most of the time I've been pairing my red lips with a skin toned eyeshadow on the lid, a dark brown in the crease and liquid liner. Today I decided to do something that looked like I made a little bit more effort by using Lancome's Erika F eyeshadow. I didn't even know this shade existed until I saw Jen from My Funny Valentine's post on it last year and quickly proceeded to track it down.

Erika F is a really pretty green eyeshadow that's hard to describe as it's a very complex shade.  I would describe it as a grey/taupe toned green with silver shimmer running through it. It pairs perfectly with Chanel's Illusion d'Ombre in Epatant (for review and swatches click here) as a base and I've swatched both below. Epatant is on the left and Erika F on the right.

This next shot is blurry but better shows the colour difference between the two products. Epatant is very silvery and a lot lighter than Erika F.

To get the look:
1. Apply Chanel Illusion d'Ombre in Epatant as a base all over the lid and then blend out the edges with a clean blending brush.
2. Apply MAC Cork eye shadow in to the outer v and crease
3. Apply Lancome Erika F eye shadow all over the lid
4. Darken the outer v using MAC Concrete eye shadow
5. Blend out the edge of the crease with MAC Bamboo eye shadow
6. Apply MAC Solar White eye shadow around the inner corner
7. Line the top lash line with Shiseido 'The Makeup' fine eye liner
8. Apply Estee Lauder Sumptous Bold Lifting Mascara to lashes

The Illusion d'Ombre's work really well as a base but if you use a thicker layer, they can move around when you blend eye shadows on top of them as you might be able to notice below.

For the rest of the face I used MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural loose powder in Medium Dark, NARS Exhibit A blush and NYX Jumbo Lip Pencil in Deep Red.

Hope you like the look!
