First up we have some of my picks for pretty nails. I decided to include a variety of shades from nude to vampy.
From left to right: NYC nail color in Apple Berry, Essie Topless and Barefoot, OPI We'll Always Have Paris, OPI Indi-a Mood For Love, Deborah Lippmann Some Enchanted Evening and Orly Rock-on Red.
NYC nail polish's are my budget beauty favourites at $2 a pop and they have a variety of beautiful shades to choose from. The Lippmann polish is perfect for layering but still looks gorgeous on its own for a subtle glitter look.
Next are my 3 top picks for a pretty pink flush of colour.
from left to right: Make Up For Ever HD Blush in shade #3, Becca Hyacinth Cream Blush and Smashbox Radiance blush.
The MUFE blush is for those of you who like your cheeks to take centre stage while Becca Hyacinth blush is the perfect choice for a more natural look. Smashbox Radiance is my univeral pink blush that I think every girl should own, light or dark!
From left to right: YSL Rouge Volupte in Rose Culte, Milani HD Advanced Lip Color in Modern Mauve, NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Istanbul, MAC Girl About Town lipstick, Milani Color Perfect Lipstick in Rose Hip and Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in La Sensuelle.
MAC Girl About Town, YSL Rose Culte and Milani Rose Hip (NARS Schiap dupe) are some of my faves for a bright lip. Milani Modern Mauve is great for a subtle hint of colour while you can't go wrong with Chanel La Sensuelle for a vampy look. I haven't used NYX Milani that much but it works great for a neutral pink nude lip.
Trying to find gloss shades for this post made me realise I own far too many 'My Lips But Better' shades and lots of nude's. Time to get some pinks I think!
From left to right: Mirenesse 3D Forever Gloss in Geisha, MAC Cremesheen Glass in Boy Bait, MAC lipglass in Nymphette, NARS Turkish Delight and Illamasqua Sheer Lipgloss in Rouse.
I love Mirenesse Geisha for a softer red lip while MAC Boy Bait is the perfect shade to go with any look. NARS Turkish Delight goes well with a smokey eye and is one of Kim K's faves. MAC Nymphette is my go to for a gold toned look while Illamasqua Rouse is one of those shades that gives you a glossy lip minus any colour.
I had a hard time picking eyeshadow shades because I have so many I love but in the end I decided to go with those in the pinky/mauve/neutral family. Apologies if some of the shades look very similar! Also, I didn't swatch Chanel Illuison D'Ombre in Ebloui but you can find my swatches here.
First up we have swatches of the MAC shades. From left to right: Antiqued, Tan pigment, All that Glitters, Naked Lunch and Satin Taupe.
I use Tan and All that Glitters as lid colours while Anitqued and Satin Taupe tend to be my outer v and crease colour shades. Naked Lunch is one of my fave inner corner highlights for when I do a pink or purple EOTD.
Next is the Wet 'n' Wild Color Icon palette in Silent Treatment:
This palette is great for a purple toned smokey eye that goes with most skin tones. Pair it over a purple base to bring out the purple in the tones or over a bronze to make the shades more neutral.
Last but not least is the Dior Quint in Rosy Tan:
This is one of my favourite palettes for eye looks that carry from day to night with little effort. The shades all work well together and are pretty fool proof in my opinion!
What are some of your top picks for a Valentine's Day FOTD?
