2011 in retrospect:2011 for me was a year of many changes, some great and some sad, but all in all it was a good year because it was one which taught me lots of things about myself. You can't control a lot of what comes your way but you can control how you react to it and this past year showed me that you can surprise even yourself in the way you react to things.
Blogging wise, 2011 saw lots of changes to this blog including me finally deciding to show my face and use my real name. It also saw a change of name and blog address. Removing anonymity from my blog has been more of a positive than a negative but, as with a lot of bloggers who also work in a professional environment, I also worry about the effect having a beauty blog has on the way I'm viewed in a professional setting. This isn't a big worry for me but it is always there in the back of my mind and I hope that anyone reading out there doesn't question my ability to do my job because of this blog which is a creative outlet for me.
Posting wise, the year started off strong but you might have noticed that I sort of lost my blogging drive towards the end. There's many reasons but I think the main one was starting full time work and the way it cut into the time I used to allocate for blogging. Please don't assume my irregular posting is due to a loss of interest in my blog because it isn't but I will have to find a routine that works for me. This may take a little while so I hope you stick around.
2012 and beyond:
This coming year feels like it has a lot of potential and is already one I'm looking forward to. I'll get to see many close friends get married this year to fantastic guys and get to be a bridesmaid for the first time and I've got a holiday planned with great friends.
I've decided not to make any resolutions this year because they're almost always destined to fail because of the pressure you put on yourself to completely change the way you live overnight. I do understand the allure of the blank slate a new year presents though and, if making new years resolutions helps you to take a first step towards something you've been putting off, you should go for it.
I've also decided that I want to be more regular with my posting and I'm hoping that I can come up with some type of schedule or routine that works for me. I also want to start reading blogs again because I miss interacting with all of you and reading all the fantastic posts you write up. I've been toying with some changes to this blog but haven't decided anything for sure but I think change will be coming soon.
I just really wanted to say thank you for stopping by and supporting me this past year and I hope you stick around for the next year. Have a fantastic year!
