Sara-May's 'May 2011 FOTD challenge' is quickly drawing to a close with only two more looks to go. It's been so much fun taking part in this challenge and I highly recommend joining in when (and if) Sara-May decides to do another one.
Today's look was 'Purple Haze' and seeing as I had to go to work today, I decided to stay away from any psychadelic interpretations and instead used MAC Purple Haze eyeshadow as the main colour. The look ended up being your typical purple smokey eye and I feel like I've done this look for you before. I don't know why but any time I attempt to do a purple look, no matter what colours I use, it always ends up looking the same so I apologise.
The colours I used were mainly MAC as I've been neglecting my MAC palettes a bit.
From left to right: MAC Purple Haze, Sugarpill Poison Plum, MAC Nocturnelle, MAC Sketch, MAC Stars 'n' Rockets and MAC Naked Lunch.
To get the look:
I applied Urban Decay Primer Potion all over my lid and then patted MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot on top of this to give my shadows a good base to stick to.
I patted MAC Purple Haze eyeshadow over the inner half of my lid
I placed Sugarpill Poison Plum eyeshadow over the outer half of my lid and then blended the point where the two colours meet
I blended out the edge of the shadows with a clean crease brush before putting a mixture of MAC Nocturnelle and MAC Sketch eyeshadows on to the outer v and into the crease
I used MAC Soft Brown eyeshadow to blend out the edges of the crease colours
I used a mixture of MAC Stars 'n' Rockets and Naked Lunch to highlight the inner corner
I used NYX Studio liquid liner in Extreme Black all across the top lashline and coated my lashes with Rimmel Sexy Curves mascara
