I wasn't planning on picking up anything from the MAC Wonder Woman collection but once I saw swatches of Athena's Kiss lipglass I knew it had to be mine! I like the exernal packaging of the product and alot of thought obviously went into it. I'm not too fond of the actual lipgloss packaging though because the use of so many primary colours just looks a bit tacky in my opinion but it's what's inside that counts!
As you're all probably well aware of by now, the majority of the products have been super sized to super hero proportions for some reason. I don't really think the average beauty addict needs such a large amount of these products but that's the road MAC have decided to take. I took some pictures to show you a comparison with a standard MAC Lipglass.
The applicator is massive compared to the standard lipglass applicators but I don't think it's particularly uncomfortable to use. My major issue with this packaging is more to do with the opening of the bottle as it's so small that it's a bit hard to pull out the applicator and it results in too much product being removed from the applicator. With the standard lipglasses I usually just pull the applicator out once and have enough product to cover my lips but with this one I find myself having to dip the applicator back in a few times.
Here are some swatches to show you how the product looks like on my lips in two different light settings.
This is one of those colours that leans more pink or purple depending on the light. To me it's like the glossy love child of MAC Girl About Town and Style Curve lipsticks. This collection also has a lipstick called Spitfire which looks like Athena's kiss in lipstick form but I don't think I'll end up buying it. It's a gorgeous colour but I've found that, because my lips are so pigmented, alot of colours get lost in translation and just end up looking the same when I wear them even if they look completely different in the bullet.

I purchased my one a few weeks ago through ebay after making a private request with a trusted seller because I was too impatient to wait until the collection released in Australia. I paid a bit less than what that the product is selling for on Aussie shores ($45AUD) but it's still a lot of money for a gloss! The fact that it's so big does justify the price raise to a certain degree although now that the initial 'have to have it' feeling is gone, I think I definitely could have lived without this gloss but it's a nice addition to my collection.
How do you feel about Athena's Kiss? Did anything from the Wonder Woman collection catch your eye?
My friend was over tonight trying on this gloss and it looked great on her and I thought I'd post up swatches of the gloss on her lips. I thought it may be helpful for those of you who want to know how this looks on a lighter skin tone.
