One of my friend's wanted me to come up with a smokey gold look for her and this is what I ended up with. I didn't feel like using black to smoke out the look so I went with a brown which made this look a lot more subtle but I still like it. As make up artists always say, 'smokey eyes is a technique, not a colour' so you don't have to stick with black. Looks like these can always be intensified by darkening the outer v and crease or made more subtle by lightening the crease and outer v colour.
To get the look I used:
MAC Indianwood Pain Pot all over the lid
A mixture of an antique gold loose shadow from Loreal (don't know the name, sorry!) and MAC Goldmine eye shadow on the lid and on the lower lashline
MAC Mulch eye shadow on the outer third of the lid
MAC Embark eye shadow in outer v and into the crease
MAC Soft Brown eye shadow to blend out the crease
MAC Naked pigment as an inner corner highlight
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on eye pencil in Corrupt on the waterline
Covergirl Lashblast Fusion on bottom and top lashes
Shiseido 'The Makeup' Fine liquid eye liner to line top lash line
I also tried to make the gold pop a bit more by adding some Sugarpill Chromalust loose shadow in Goldilux applied wet to the first 2/3rd's of the lid and on to the bottom lashline.
