Intense Sunset Eyes with Sugarpill Cosmetics

There are very few things more beautiful in nature than a sunset with its gorgeous mix of purples, pinks, reds, yellows and oranges so I thought I'd do a sunset inspired look.

I've already posted a sunset look on this blog before but that one was a very subtle look and that is not what this look is about at all because these are the colours I'm using:

These are the four shadows from the Sugarpill Burning Heart quad and they are Flamepoint (orange), Buttercupcake (yellow), Love+ (red) and Posion Plum (purple). These shades are super bright and pigmented so we ain't playing around here, these shades definitely mean business! I'm going to post a review on the Sugarpill products soon but I want to get a feel for them first. Anyway, here's the look I came up with:

To get the look I used:
MAC Prep+Prime eye in Medium all over the lid up to the brow bone
MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre all over the lid and up to the brow bone
NYX Jumbo eye pencil in Milk patted on to the lid just up to the crease
Sugarpill Tako (matte white) all over the lid up to the browbone and around the inner corner
Sugarpill Buttercupcake on the first third of the lid
Sugarpill Flamepoint on middle third of lid
Sugarpill Love+ on outer third of lid
Sugarpill Poison Plum in the crease and slightly on outer v
Rimmel Exaggerate liquid liner to line top lashline
Rimmel Sex Curves mascara
Rimmel Kohl Pencil in white on the waterline

First off let me apologise for the mascara smudges on my lid because it's one of my personal makeup pet peeves. I didn't notice that they were there until I'd already taken the pictures. So this is a really bright look and very different to anything I've ever done but I think it's a fun look for summer and I would wear it out. The annoying thing about this look is that you need to blend the colours together to get that transition happening but you have to do it carefully so you don't loose the intensity of the colours so it's a bit of a time consuming process.

This look is not one for the faint of heart but it's not a hard look to pull off because it starts off with the white (the easiest colour to pull off) around the tear duct where it grabs attention while the red (which is the hardest colour to pull off) is on the outer corner where you don't notice it so much. If I were to wear this look out I'd probably skip the white pencil on the water line and go for a brown or a gold but that's just me. Hope you like it and leave a comment if you'd ever wear something like this.

  1. This look is awesome. I would never be so brave to wear it but I love all the colours!
Wear do I buy sugar pill?

  2. You have to buy it online at I never thought I'd be brave enough to wear colours this bright either but I'm so into them at the moment!

If you're not into the brights then I'll give you some of the loose gold shadow I bought from them next time I see you. It's the most amazing gold but unfortunately due to my metal allergy I get a reaction whenever I wear it :(

  3. Btw, you should check out the cold heart palette from Sugarpill. It has the purple, blue, black and white eyeshadows in it so you can ease yourself into the bright colours and create really pretty smokey eyes at the same time. I think the purple shadow would look amazing on you!

  4. Okay well I'll be back next week so I'll let go to town on my face... Can't promise I'll keep it on though!
