Smoke and Diamonds Smokey Eye

I went a bit overboard with the eye looks today and decided to do 3 seeing as it was such a nice day outside and the light was good. The first look I'm posting uses MAC Smoke and Diamonds eyeshadow as the main colour. I've always loved the look of smokey eyes but I feel like grey just doesn't work so well with my skin tone as it's such a cool colour so I was excited when I found this colour as it was more of a taupey brown grey. I think that it works better with my skin tone because of the slight warmth that the brown tones add to it. Hope you like it!

Products used:
Urban Decay Primer Potion (UDPP)
Nyx jumbo Eye pencil in Dark Brown
MAC eyeshadows in Smoke and Diamonds
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on eyeliner in Zero
Christian Dior Diorshow Mascara

How to:
So first I primed my eye using the UDPP and I primed all the way up to my brow bone. I also used some NYX Jumbo eye pencil in dark brown as a base and put it all over the lid. I chose to use the dark brown because I wanted the brown in the 'Smoke and Diamonds' to show through more than the grey/silver. I then took my Sigma SS239 shader brush and patted the smoke and diamonds all over my lid up to the crease.

I then used my MAC 217 blending brush and picked up some Concrete eyeshadow and blended it into the crease where the Smoke and diamonds stopped. I dipped my MAC 224 blending brush into the Wedge eyeshadow and blended out the harsh line where the Concrete eyeshadow stopped.

I then took some carbon on my MAC 219 pencil brush and darkened up the outer v. I took the Urban Decay pencil and lined the top lashline and also my waterline and bottom lashline. I took my pencil brush again and smudged out the top line with some carbon and did the same to the bottom lashline. I then took some Smoke and Diamonds on the same pencil brush and smudged out the bottom lashline. To complete the look I put on lots of mascara on both the top and bottom lashes.

I don't usually do eye looks that are this dark as I feel like it gives me too harsh a look but I really liked this one. It was very glamorous looking and I loved the way the Smoke and Diamonds looks brown in some lights and then more grey in others. I'm definitely going to try this look out some time soon!
