I ordered a whole bunch of makeup more than a week ago and have been patiently waiting for it to arrive. There was a bit of a delay because of Easter but both lots of make up arrived today. Yay! I love the feeling of opening newly purchased make up.

My first lot of products was from I was just browsing the site and seeing what was new when I noticed that there were a lot of MAC shadow shades for sale that I actually wanted to buy. I've always bought eyeshadows and loose powders which were just varying shades of gold because I think it's the one colour that compliments all skin tones but especially darker skin tones. But because I've been reading alot more makeup blogs lately, I've been inspired to branch out of my comfort zone. Firstly, I've never been a matte shadow person (if it didn't shimmer then I just passed on by) but as I get older and try to find more work appropriate make up looks I've begun to see the purpose of matte shadows and colours that are more natural looking which is why I jumped at the chance to pick up so many colours at a bargain price.

The colours I ended up buying were Saddle, Bamboo, Blanc Type, Forgery, Print, Stormwatch, Brown Script, Flip, Solar White and Goldmine. I also decided to buy the Guerlain Terracotta Loose Powder Kohl liner in Noir which I've been trying to justify buying for months now. I also picked up a Chanel Aqualumiere Gloss in Glass Quartz.

My next lot of items was from which has been my absolute favourite site to throw money at since I discovered it a few months ago. Now that I've found a site that offers NARS at a not so ridiculous price I've been branching out into the brand more and I've been really impressed so far. I've already bought a few NARS blushes and love them so I bought Torrid and Exhibit A. I also picked up the Sheer Matte foundation in Barcelona as well as the Powder foundation also in Barcelona.

I also took the plunge and finally bought the NARS Velvet Matte lip pencil I've been lusting after for a while now in Dragon Girl. I've been really intrigued by Smashbox products as well so I bought a blush in Paradise as well as the Double Take lip colour in Amaretto. Last but not least, I bought two more Laura Mercier tinted lip balms in Mocha and Apricot as well as a Shu Uemeura lipstick in BG 934.

So far I'm loving all of what I bought except the foundation and powder seem a bit light on me. I was colour matched to the Barcelona in the powder and in the Sheer Glow Foundation. I ended up buying the Sheer Matte instead thinking that the colours would be the same but Barcelona in the Sheer Matter range runs a bit lighter and pinker than it's Sheer Glow counterpart. It sucks when products don't look the same as when you try them on in the store but there's always a way to get them to work for you even if it's not in the way you initially intended to use them.
